Spring Steelhead & Scenic Stories — A Wild Blue Adventure Up North

On May 1st, The Wild Blue Films team hit the open road, cameras in hand, and headed into the heart of Minnesota’s north woods for our latest production—a spring steelhead fishing shoot along the rugged North Shore of Lake Superior.
We teamed up with expert guide Peter from Catching Adventures and set out on an all-day journey through canyons, cascading rivers, and hidden steelhead runs just north of Duluth. Right away, we spotted steelhead in the first hole below a waterfall—an epic start to what turned out to be one of the most scenic and powerful shoots we've ever done.
This wasn't just a fishing trip—it was a visual story about wild places, expert guiding, and the chase for a legendary fish. The landscapes, the lighting, the fish—it all came together in a way that’s translates beautifully on film.
